At the recent CES 2025 event, a tech conference hosted at the Las Vegas Sphere, Delta Air Lines celebrated its 100th anniversary and unveiled a suite of technological advancements and partnerships.

“New marvels like AI, the digital revolution and sustainable technology are giving us incredible tools to transform the travel experience,” said Ed Bastian, Delta CEO, at CES 2025. “But amid the wonder of new technology, we’ve always understood that the entire point of innovation is to lift people up.”

Delta Sync: New Seatback Entertainment Enhancements

Delta announced enhancements to its in-flight entertainment system, Delta Sync, which will debut on new aircraft delivered in 2026 and beyond. Designed for a more personalized passenger experience, the upgraded system includes 4K HDR QLED displays, Bluetooth connectivity, destination-focused content, accessibility features and a “Do Not Disturb” mode.

A highlight of the Delta Sync offering is a partnership with YouTube, allowing SkyMiles members to enjoy ad-free access to their favorite YouTube channels while in the air.

Delta Concierge: Al-Powered Assistant in the Fly Delta App

Delta also introduced the AI-powered Delta Concierge, a new feature in the Fly Delta app. Travelers can use natural language text or voice commands to access real-time assistance with airport navigation, packing tips based on weather forecasts and SkyMiles account benefits.

In the future, Delta Concierge will integrate with Joby Aviation's electric air taxi service, enabling travelers to coordinate transportation from their homes to the airport.

New Delta Partnerships

Delta announced a new partnership with Uber, allowing travelers to link their SkyMiles and Uber accounts. Those who use this feature can earn one mile per dollar spent on UberX transfers to and from an airport, two miles per dollar on premium rides and three miles per dollar on Uber Reserve rides.

Travelers can also earn one mile per dollar on eligible restaurant and grocery delivery orders from Uber Eats. Set to launch in the spring, members can register online for the waitlist here.

In collaboration with Airbus, Delta is exploring innovative aviation solutions to improve fuel efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and boost plane performance through the Airbus UpNext program. The airline will also work with Airbus to explore hydrogen-powered aircraft concepts under the Airbus ZEROe project.

Delta also announced its partnership with the Minnesota SAF Hub to expand the production and use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), a critical component in the airline’s sustainability strategy.
