American Airlines (AA) recently announced a series of enhancements to its inflight connectivity and entertainment to enhance the travel experience by showcasing its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction and loyalty program.
Wi-Fi Upgrades
In the coming weeks, AA will begin offering AAdvantage members the ability to use their miles to access Wi-Fi on select aircraft, with plans to extend this feature across all narrowbody aircraft by the summer travel season.
The carrier is also rolling out gate-to-gate connectivity on most mainline aircraft, allowing passengers to stay connected from the moment they board to when they disembark and enjoy free Wi-Fi across AA’s entire domestic narrowbody fleet.
Launching in stages throughout the year, internet connectivity will be powered by a newly designed Wi-Fi portal, offering a streamlined purchasing process and a user-friendly interface to make it easier for passengers to access Wi-Fi, entertainment and special offers on a single page.
AA will also upgrade its satellite internet provider from Viasat to Intelsat, a multinational satellite service provider, on nearly 500 dual-class regional aircraft.
Entertainment Upgrades
AA continues to lead in inflight entertainment by offering streaming capabilities across 100% of its mainline fleet, allowing travelers to access their favorite platforms like Netflix or Hulu.
Travelers can also access the carrier's 1,500 pieces of free content on inflight entertainment. Approximately 200 titles are refreshed monthly, including award-nominated movies, TV shows and audio tailored to current trends and customer feedback.
AA customers can take advantage of free subscription offers, such as Apple TV+.
