API: The End to Sending Data Files

Tired of manually sharing Excel spreadsheets and reports? Atlas APIs can eliminate the manual processes by providing your applications with instant access and up to date information.

The next “book” in the Atlas API library, created based on client demand, is the Trip Data API. This new addition enables clients to access a list of their travelers’ trips, including full trip details, via an API. The main benefit to utilizing this, or any, API is the instant and up to date access provided to this critical information.  Additionally, Atlas APIs are delivered as a modern RESTful JSON web service, which is more flexible and efficient.

When the Trip Data API is accessed, the trip details returned include but aren’t limited to:

  • all travel segments
  • cost data including:
    • true costs such as air tickets and
    • estimated costs such as hotel and car data
  • project codes
  • department numbers
  • any standard data element currently captured within the Passenger Name Record (PNR)

The Trip Data API can be “called” on demand by your custom application. It can also include a summary list of PNR change events (flight changes, remark added, hotel change, etc.) that occurred since the PNR was created. This data can be requested based on a specific time period, traveler name, or other data element.

There are various ways the Trip Data API can be applied. For example, clients with intranets can display trip details for upcoming traveler’s trips to their managers via a dashboard. The information could also be used to facilitate internal approval processes. We would be pleased to discuss with you how you could utilize our Trip Data API within your travel program.

Atlas is constantly expanding API library offerings; speak with your internal engineering or technology teams to learn how Atlas’ APIs can work for you. To learn specifically how Atlas Trip Data API can improve your workflows, contact your Program Manager.
