Elaine Osgood, Atlas, and Girl’s Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts

Girl’s Inc., formerly known as Girls Clubs of America, provides education, literacy, fitness violence prevention, leadership and safety programs encouraging and helping girls to achieve their potential.

Elaine Osgood, ATTG’s founder and CEO, has a personal connection to Girl’s Inc. of Worcester. Elaine, who now sits on the Girl’s Inc. board, participated in the programs at the Girls Club as a young girl. Her daughter, Nika, now volunteers at the summer camps and has plans of continued participation in her future.

On October 26th, Elaine, her daughter, and Colleen Brescia (Lead Generation & Direct Sales Manager) headed to the Centennigirl 100 Year Celebration in Worcester, Massachusetts. This event was the kick off for the organization’s Capital Campaign, “With you in her corner.” This campaign aims to ensure that local girls can participate in Girl’s Inc. experiences for years to come. Girls K-12 can participate in programs emphasizing ways to help them grow up to be strong, smart and bold women. They learned about the array of programs that Girls’ Inc. provides, including one summer program, STEM and Leadership Camp, which provides hands on education in the science, technology, engineering and math and leadership roles for girls.

The evening started off with a singing and dancing performance by the girls on stage. Followed by presentations and speeches from Judy Vredenburgh (CEO of Girl’s Inc. National), three young women who are attending college and college graduates who spoke about how Girl’s Inc. empowered them, and Victoria Waterman (CEO of Girl’s Inc. Worcester), received the Key to the City of Worcester, from Mayor Joseph Petty.

The engaging and enlightening speeches were followed by the auction. Atlas Travel donated a cruise certificate for the auction, which raised a total of $2,500.00 for Girl’s Inc. and the Capital Campaign, “With you in her corner!”
